Strengthening the health professional trainers, committed and value driven with knowledge, skills, and favorable attitudes in to enrich trainer potential for teaching and training according to the educational science theories and technologies.

About Us

The Department of Educational Science is one of the five training Departments which comes under the Training unit at the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS). It has taken up the key role in conducting training and teaching sessions related to educational sciences and training technologies for health professional trainers.

As all the public health professionals need to play the role of trainers, they need to master the techniques on teaching and training. We strongly admire and involve in Continuous professional development and lifelong learning of health professional as trainers. Hence the Department of Educational science is currently conducting capacity building programmes which designed to deliver basic concepts in Educational sciences and teaching technologies which are of paramount importance for those who are functioning as teachers or trainers.  We are also conducting capacity building programmes for health professional teachers and trainers in assessment and evaluation and curriculum development. Department of Educational Science also involved in capacity building of the trainers in developing instructional materials for effective teaching and training. Assessment and evaluation of the trainers, quality assurance and maintaining standards of the training is another important responsibility that has been taken up by our team.

We also actively engaged in developing and revising curricula and health learning materials make them in aligning with advances in practices and technologies in health care setting.
