ජාතික සෞඛ්ය විද්යා ආයතනය (NIHS) ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ප්රමුඛතම මහජන සෞඛ්ය ආයතනය වන අතර එය 1926 ජූලි 1 වන දින ආරම්භ කරන ලද වටිනා ඉතිහාසයක් ඇත. අග්නිදිග ආසියාවේ පළමු සෞඛ්ය ඒකකය ලෙස කළුතර හි ආරම්භ කරන ලද NIHS, ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සෞඛ්ය සේවයේ ප්රධාන කුළුණක් ලෙස NIHS කටයුතු කරයි. එහි මූලික වගකීම වන්නේ ජාතිය සඳහා සෞඛ්ය මානව සම්පත් පුහුණු කිරීම සහ අවට ජනගහනයට ප්රාථමික සෞඛ්ය සේවා සැපයීමයි. ඉදිරි වැඩසටහන්
